Learn to ride - All ages, all stages

Established in 1972 Tower Farm is a fairly large establishment with a wide choice of equestrian activities. Tower Farm fully licensed and insured and is approved by BHS, ABRS and TRSS.

Tower Farm has access to many scenic rides with no road work, most rides go around the Braid Hills Golf Course where you are able to view the whole of Edinburgh including the Pentlands, Arthur seat, The Castle, the Forth Bridges and many other of Edinburghs famous landmarks.

Tower Farm offers private instructions, group lessons, fun mornings, pony rides, beach rides and ride outs for all. Competitions, livery and clinics are available for those wishing to progress. Tower Farm also hosts lecture/demos.

We have a wide variety of horses/ponies from 11hh to 17hh so we have horses to suit all needs. We can cater for most requests and can make arrangements for longer rides, disabled riders etc if required. If your nursery, school or club would like to organise a session, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Important information:Please book directly on tower-farm.ecpro.co.uk for lessons and rides. The system allows you to book up to 12 hours prior to any session. If the time frame is shorter, please email us directly or call us on 0131 664 3375 and we can try to to book you in.

Visited Tower Stables during my trip visiting family in Edinburgh. Beautiful ride and sweet horses. I am giving this 3 stars for that reason. I did feel the staff / the trail guide were not friendly for day riders (regular or repeating customers probably okay). I was still planning to give or offer a tip despite zero interaction on the trail, but at the end of the ride the guide dismounted and didn’t speak to anyone. It was pretty odd overall. I am staying close by and am an experienced rider; so I am pretty disappointed, as I would come ride here every time I visit the city if it had been a bit more accommodating.

Kids absolutely loved it. First time for all 3 riding horses. They all want to go back ASAP but getting booking slots for all 3 at the same time is near impossible. The odd slot for 1 comes up on the waiting lists you can join but I can't book for just 1
