Nursery school education in Edinburgh at St George’s School

We believe that a child’s educational journey begins from their earliest years in nursery. Providing a child with secure, engaging experiences from a young age, carefully orchestrated and nurtured by a team of experienced and qualified teachers and practitioners, will help ignite a sense of wonder and passion for learning which will motivate and inspire for years to come.

The children who attend St George’s nursery have access to bright, stimulating indoor and outdoor environments. Learning is active, varied and focused on the interests of the child. We offer an exceptional Early Years Education.

Our Edinburgh based private nursery is set in 15-acres of open parkland in the West End of Scotland's capital city. We are conveniently located for families living in Murrayfield, Corstorphine, Edinburgh's West End, Craigleith and beyond. See Nursery location map.

Early Years Nursery - from 3 - 5 years with wrap-around care

We take girls and boys from the start of the term of their third birthday.

Both girls and boys can stay for the full two-year duration of the Nursery.  In due course, boys can then move on with their friends into our Primary 1 and can stay with us up to the end of Primary 3.

My daughter is in the junior school and is really enjoying her experience. The staff are kind and caring, and everything is run efficiently and effectively. They go out of their way to help the girls and parents. There is a lovely sense of community fostered by the staff and girls. I am very happy to have my daughter here.

Our daughter joined St George's nursery more than a year ago and to say that she just loves it is definitely an understatement! From her first day she felt immediately at home. The quality of the nursery staff is truly top and they are absolutely wonderful – always smiling and friendly. They always try their best to make the children feel comfortable and keep them constantly busy with all sorts of activities and interesting trips such as to the beach, zoo, the Holyrood Palace and even to the nearby care house!! The nursery also benefits hugely from the school’s facilities such as the gym hall, the music centre and the lovely outdoor playing areas such as the fantastical forest and other wonderful areas of the school’s grounds. Nursery is from 8.30am – 3pm with flexible sessions, however, we have also been using their breakfast club from 7.45am and after school club from 3pm-6pm and I can thoroughly recommend these too. Overall, excellent staff and facilities. Highly recommended!

Very lovely nursery with friendly and nurturing teachers. They offer a wide variety of activities from sport and art to outdoor learning and cooking. Small groups with a great teacher-child-ratio and an outstanding transfer procedure from nursery to Primary 1!

Having moved our daugther (3 y/o) from her previous nursery to St George's, I have to say the difference is staggering. The nursery is absolutley exceptional. We truly feel our daughter is receiving the highest level of care - I would wholeheartedly recommend.
