Welcome to Rough Common Village Hall in the quiet, Kentish village of Rough Common, situated a few miles outside of the historic and UNESCO World Heritage site of Canterbury. The building comprises a versatile and well-equipped village hall, perfect for functions, art classes or meetings and a popular and well attended pre-school. Attached to the hall is a large recreation ground with cricket pitch, car-park, and a children's play area. The Committee wishes to thank Rough Common and Harbledown Parish Council for agreeing to contribute money from the Park and Ride fund towards new play equipment for the field. This covers half of the costs of the new play equipment. We will seek grant funding, and fundraise ourselves, to make up the additional funds required. Plans for the hall extension and upgrade are on display outside the hall. This is a big project that will require a significant amount of fundraising. We hope the village will support the Committee in its fundraising activity and, as always, we would be grateful for as many volunteers as possible as we embark on this exciting project. Rough Common Village Hall is a fantastic venue for all types of events and functions, from your special birthday party, weekly line-dancing session or martial arts evening. The hall and bar can be booked at competitive rates, please enquire via the Contact Us page.

This is such a quiet , tucked away village hall and field. The field is used for cricket, but has a large field and a small play area. It's always in immaculate condition, clean and tidy. There is usually ample parking at the village hall as well.

A great facility for the community. The hall is perfectly suited for small gatherings (kids birthday parties) they offer basic catering facilities (tea/coffee urn) and the space provided is great. We had a bunch of little ones and a bouncy castle and a few tables and chairs for the adults still in perfectly. One little oddity that I haven't seen before is the pay as you go electricity meter (bring pound coins to feed it!) It's a bit much to charge extra for electricity for the average user, but then if you're running heavy electric kit you should expect to pay a bit more to hire the place. Anyway...a great facility.
