I wanted a local accountant to look after my books, so after a quick Google search, I found Nicholas at Roger & Whiteley. After an initial phone call, I felt quite happy to move my business to him. This was November 2021. I’d provided contact details, and was told that Nicholas’s details would be on the email that would be sent to me. They never arrived. Having heard nothing, in mid December I dropped in to see Nicholas, and to get the contact details. Nicholas was sat in a small chaotic office, surrounded by paper work. I too have an unity office, but I was still surprised to see an accountant with one. My presence there seems to be a massive inconvenience for Nicholas. I was there no more than 3 minutes! I was told that this is the busiest time of the year for him, which in understood, but I also explained I’d only dropped in to get the contact details he’d never sent, and that my accounts related items would be with him early January! Early January arrives, and much later than normal, I emailed all of my account related paperwork across. I heard nothing. I leave it for a couple of weeks and I call to make sure that it’ll been received. My call, much like my visit, seemed to be a massive inconvenience for Nicholas. He again explained that this is the busiest time of the year for him, which I acknowledged, but again I also pointed out that I’d not heard from him and as a client (a new client at that) I’d expected a courtesy email confirming everything had been received. To my surprise I was then told “if you’re not happy with this service, you can take your business somewhere else if you want!” …… so guess what, I AM! I’m sure you’re great at number related tasks, but you seriously need some training for your customer service skills. . As for being “happy with the service” …. I didn’t get chance to find our, as you fell at the first hurdle! Maybe you’ll acknowledge this review, and I’m genuinely interested to see if you do, because I can’t wait to see how you think it went!
