Well, where do I start. This store is absolutely fantastic, I don't think I have ever experienced such helpful and friendly staff before. I visited the Sutton Coldfield store on Saturday to exchange an item I had purchased from another branch, I was greeted by Teresa who asked if she could help me, I told her what I wanted and she took me directly to the location and they had 2 of the items left, we each picked 1 up and she said don't have this one the is a mark on it (it was no bigger than a dot the size of a full stop made with a pencil). We went back to the till and I asked for the store manager and didn't tell her why. Straight away she summoned Helen, I told her that Teresa was an ambassador for the store and should be nominated for the employee of the month award, I was gobsmacked when she said Homebase do not have one in place. I went to my local branch on Sunday and the service and staff were abysmal and said they do not sell the item I wanted, I said I know you do because I have purchased 1 from there before but the guy remained adamant they did did not ever sell it, I then asked someone else for a different item and he said carry on to the end of this aisle turn left and they are somewhere down 1 of the aisles on the right, I couldn't find it so I left the store in discust. Guess what I went to Sutton again today was served by a young lady called Lily went more than the extra mile to look after me and ensure I was sorted with everything I needed. Whilst I was waiting for Lily I was watching her colleague serving customers I think her name was Liz, again she was fantastic with each and every customer. I have told Helen I am going to contact head office and speak to the head of customer services and discuss starting an employee of the month award and possibly a store of the month scheme. A big thank you to all at Sutton Coldfield for giving good old customer service.

Lilly is a superstar, she was so helpful. In fact all the staff there that I met were extremely helpful. There was a nice atmosphere in the store I guess it was because of the helpful positive attitude of the staff. Thank you for making my shopping experience an enjoyable one.

Went for some gloss paint but tins seemed a little expensive and they didn't have any reasonable sizes and that would have cost more. You would think that gloss wood paint would be in reasonable size a cost, so got my paint from the sawmills instead. Think they need to be more flexible and cost effective, parking is easy if not a little chaotic with the set-out

One till open. One advice member of staff fully occupied. Long queue. No one to help. Goods in boxes with no information about them. Whole place looked as if it was getting ready for customers.The garden furniture on display looked cheap and nasty. I wanted a big parasol but they only had ones to go in the middle of a table.My husband looked for mouse poison and found that many of the boxes had been opened and half the contents stolen. I used to love this shop.
