Very prompt diagnosed fault within minutes of arriving replaced logic board which he had on his van.less than 30 mins to diagnose and repair

They were appointed for a warranty repair by Smeg. Managed to arrange an appointment within 48 hours with very pleasant and helpful receptionist. Engineer arrived and was fully COVID safe. Polite and efficient. Identified the issue quickly, which was actually a supply fault not the appliance but was able to rectify immediately.

The "engineer" came to look into our broken appliance, turned it on and off at the mains and advised that the compressor was broken, that it was a common part (but clearly not common enough for them to have in the van) and advised that they will return to repair it early the following week as they don't work weekends. Luckily I decided to chase them up the following Tuesday, at which point they advised, rudely, that there was a blockage and that the appliance couldn't be repaired. Given that the "engineer" was in the house for no more than about three minutes I'm very intrigued to know how they arrived at the conclusion that there was a blockage and that it couldn't be fixed; I get the impression that they have a wall somewhere in the office with numerous common issues and that when they can't be bothered repairing something they just blindfold themselves and point at them, or potentially it's more of a "Wheel of Fortune" sort of arrangement. I'm always a bit wary when businesses have bad reviews and I wouldn't allow other peoples reviews to influence my opinion before I've had the opportunity to form one. That being said, I would avoid these as they're absolutely useless. Good to see that Domestic & General do their due diligence on their representatives before appointing them.

We booked a repair to our oven through Domestic and General and Dill & sons were nominated as the repair company. Having spoken to them directly we managed to get a cancellation and the engineer was prompt and very professional and polite. Many thanks to him and the office staff!!

I truly believe you see a company's true colours when things go wrong. I have a Booking Number through RepairCare for today. I have waited in all day for them and its a no show. They took no responsibility at all, it was first RepairCare and then our local companies fault. He clearly put the phone down on me at one point then rang back blaming the phone system. All I would say is read all the other comments about this company going back 4 years to understand this is not just sour grapes. If I could give 0 stars I would. Just plain awful.
