IS PLANNING PERMISSION REQUIRED FOR MY DRIVEWAY?

In 2008 it became law for homeowners who require driveways with impermeable surfaces (such as pattern imprinted concrete) will need planning permission. HOWEVER, as long as we make every effort to drain the water into planters, soak-aways or French drains, planning permission will not be required.

Don't let this deter you from having pattern imprinted concrete. On the rare occasion planning permission is needed, it is cheap, straightforward and only takes around 6 weeks.
