Created in homage to a key genius of the Italian Renaissance, Caravaggio is dedicated to gastronomic excellence, aiming to demonstrate the same dedication to quality and innovation in the field of food and drink as the great Italian masters brought to painting and sculpture. Caravaggio is one of the city’s most well established fine dining restaurants, offering superb modern Italian cuisine in elegant art deco surroundings. Formally opened by Luciano Pavarotti in 1996, Caravaggio is the most serious Italian restaurant in the City and a firm favourite with the movers and shakers of the square mile, many of whom are regular customers. Occupying the imposing premises of what was formerly a banking hall, all that remains of the original interior is the ornate high ceiling, with its splendid Art Deco light fittings. The designer Tony Thomas has opened up the space and extended an existing gallery that now runs around the room at mezzanine level, providing a second tier of tables.A long, marble topped bar by the entrance provides a convenient holding area for what is, at lunch times, a very busy dining room and is also popular with single diners, many of whom prefer to eat at the bar.

Daniel Badoiu5 StarWe thank everyone involved in the preparation and presentation of our meal on monday evening, it was exceptional in every way and added so much to our enjoyment .
We will certainly be coming again and we have no hesitation in recommending you to all our friendsTuesday 15th February 2022
ayushi gupta1 StarMy partner booked for a lunch at the place. The menu was provided without any markers for vegetarian/vegan options. When asked to recommend food, the main waiter seemed quite disappointed with the fact that we are looking for vegetarian food at his restaurant. He recommended us 5 things including starters and mains, and when I asked why is he recommending duck egg as an option, he was quizzical and confirmed ‘so you want vegan’?
The service was fine.
And the two things we ordered was awful! It wasn’t salty, or had the necessary seasoning. It is the worst meal I have had in London. The ravioli had weird bitter sweet taste.
I am quite disappointed that I wasted over £50 of my hard earned money at a place where I felt nothing but judged on ordering vegetarian. And there is a reason, because the food is awful.
Never recommend to anyone!Tuesday 6th December 2022
Azeem1 StarPossibly the worst dining experience I have had in London for some time. The service was very poor. We were a business party of 5. Bread rolls were brought out which were barely sufficient. Had to ask for olive oil and balsamic vinegar. One very small saucer was presented for 5 of us to share. The waitress had zero etiquette. The food is bang average. The menu options very limited. There should be an option for zero stars on here. Even that would be generous.Saturday 8th October 2022
Marcus Goncalves4 StarWe were visiting London from NYC. Food here was very good: paneer, lamb, and curry. Atmosphere was also excellent with high ceilings and castle-like interior. They lost a star for service as the waiter argued with one of our guests and it took us 35 min to pay the check because the card machine battery died.Sunday 12th March 2023
